Fox River Trail
September 24, 2022
9:15 AM

Join us/for a ride on the Fox River Trail (and McHenry County Prairie Path) from Elgin to Crystal Lake and return. We'll start at the Elgin library and ride to the gazebo in Crystal Lake. We'll take a brief break there before returning. The trail is all paved and mostly flat except for a hill in Algonquin and overpass in Crystal Lake. There are indoor restrooms at the library and gazebo, as well as several places along the route.

We'll meet in the library parking lot near Ann Street. The distance will be about 30 miles round trip. Because this is out and back on the same route it is easy to cut your ride short and return if you prefer a shorter distance. (Dundee round trip 10 miles, Algonquin round trip 20 miles.)

Casual ride. No one left behind.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare. (Bathrooms in library available at 9:00am.)

Reminders: Helmets are expected safety gear. Bike must be in reasonable condition. Guests are welcome to join us for one ride but are expected to join the club for additional rides (insurance requirements).

Starting Location:
Gail Borden Library (270 N Grove, Elgin) Golf Rd/Rt-58 west until it ends at Grove in Elgin. Left on Grove to the library. Meet in the parking lot near Ann St.
