Let's ride the Fox River Trail from the Elgin Library south to the St.
Charles library and return (~20 miles total). Or you can turn around in South Elgin for a total of 10 miles. This will be a casual ride with no one left behind.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.
We will be doing the hill at the Tekakwitha Preserve south of South Elgin. Walking is OK.
This route is mostly open, trail is paved except for a short stretch of limestone. Temps should be in the low 70s and partly sunny.
Restrooms at the libraries in Elgin and St. Charles. Rest rooms in SEBA park in South Elgin and Duerr Preserve about halfway.
Reminders: Helmets are expected safety gear. Bike must be in reasonable condition. Guests are welcome to join us for one ride but are expected to join the club for additional rides (insurance requirements). Fountains may be disabled so bring enough water. Please carry emergency contact info.
Starting Location:
Elgin Library (270 N Grove Ave, Elgin) Golf Rd west to Grove St. in Elgin. Left on Grove to library on right.
