Ride to FermiLab Bison
June 7, 2025
9:30 AM

There are baby bison at Fermilab. Let's see if we can find them. We'll start at Kline Creek Farm and ride the Illinois Prairie Path to FermiLab. Mostly flat, mostly limestone. This year marks 50 years of prairie restoration at FermiLab. And Saturday is National Prairie Day.

IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To enter Fermilab you will need either a drivers license with Real ID (gold star in upper right corner) or a passport. Please bring appropriate ID.

I can't guarantee we'll see bison. They may not be near the road.

Casual ride. No one left behind.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.

Reminders: Helmets are expected safety gear. Bike must be in reasonable condition. Guests are welcome to join us for one ride but are expected to join the club for additional rides (insurance requirements). Fountains may be disabled so bring enough water. Please carry emergency contact info.

Starting Location:
Kline Creek Farm (1N600 County Farm Road, West Chicago) Take Barrington Road south and it becomes County Farm Road. Farm/preserve is on the right after you cross Rt 64/North Ave. About 30 minutes from Schaumburg.

Distance: 20-25 miles
Average Speed: 10-12 mph
Leader: Wayne (heinmiller.il@prodigy.net)
