Rock Cut State Park and Rock River Bicycle Trail R
September 27, 2014
9:30 am

We will cycle on the paved Orange trail along Willow Creek out of the park to Perryville Road. We then cycle west to the Rock River. Then south along the shoreline paths through many small parks. This is a very scenic and diverse ride. We are hoping to see some fall colors

Starting Location:
Rock Cut State Park is located 65 miles from Hoffman Estates. Allow about 1.5 hours to get there.

Take the I-90 Tollway northwest to Rockford to Exit 173 (Rock Cut State Park). Turn Left and go to the light for Rock Cut. You will follow the signs to Pierce Lake Dam. Just stay on the main park road until you get to the lake. We will meet at the Dam (looks like a wooden bridge). There is a parking lot on the north side of the Dam (Bridge) across from the Orange Trail

Distance: 25 miles
Average Speed: 10-12 mph
Leader: Lynn Caldarola (pldms@aol.com)
