Millenium Trail
July 18, 2015
9 am

The Millennium Trail is crushed limestone. Much
of it runs through Lake
County Forest Preserves. It is not a rail trail. It
is mostly flat with
some gently rolling hills and one or two moderate hills.
It is mostly open
with a couple of shady spots to stop for a break.

Starting Location:
Take Barrington Road/Rt 59 north to
Wauconda. Go right/east on
Route 176, the right/south on Fairfield/V61. You
will see a sign for the
winter sports area of Lakewood Preserve on the left.
(Don't be fooled by
the main Lakewood entrance on Rt 176.) We'll meet at the
parking lot.

Distance: 20 miles
Average Speed: 10-12 mph
Leader: Wayne Heinmiller (heinmiller.il@prodigy.net)
