Ride Gilman Trail
July 23, 2016
9 am

This Saturday morning I'll enjoy a summer ride on the Virgil Gilman Trail to
Waubonsee Community College. You're welcome to join me. The trail is
paved, flat and nicely shaded for most of the distance.

Start: Phillips Park in Aurora, parking lot across from the visitor center.
When: Depart 9 AM (a few minutes after so we can use the restrooms at the
visitor center which opens at 9 AM). Arrive by 8:45 AM to get ready and
sign in.
Distance: About 25 miles round trip
How: Casual riding speed

Directions: Route 59 south to Ogden Ave/Route 34. Right on Ogden. 3 miles
to Montgomery Rd. Right on Montgomery. The park will be on the right after
you cross Hill Ave. Keep going on Montgomery, then make a right on Howell.
Right on Parker/Ray Moses to enter the park. Park on the right across the
street from the visitor center (Mastodon Gallery). About an hour from the
clock tower in Schaumburg. (For GPS try "Ray Moses Drive, Aurora, IL".
That should at least get you somewhere in the park.)

Afterward I'll have lunch at the Doggie Diner drive-in.
