Ride to Kenosha & Jelly Belly
September 17, 2016
9:30 am

going to try combining the pleasant ride to Kenosha with a stop at Jelly
Belly on the way back this Saturday, 9/17. We'll follow side streets along
the lakefront to Harbor Park in Kenosha. On the way back we'll stop at
Jelly Belly and then use the Kenosha County Trail and McClory Trail (former
right of way of the North Shore Electric). Meet me at North Pointe Marina
in Winthrop Harbor at 9:30 AM if you would like to join me. This should be
about 25 miles mostly on quiet roads and some limestone. I plan to stop for
lunch in Kenosha at The Spot drive-in (floats with home-made root beer, cash
only).

Starting Location:
From Schaumburg take your choice of routes to I-94 north. Then
exit on Russell Road east to Sheridan Road right/south to Main Street
(east/left) in Winthrop Harbor. Main Street becomes Marina Drive. When you
reach the marina turn right at the Admin Building and park in the public lot
on the right. We'll find a restroom we can use in the marina. Google says
it is about 1 hour and 15 minutes from the Clock Tower. Use 701 North Point
Drive, Winthrop Harbor IL 60096 for your GPS to get to the marina.

Distance: 25 miles
