9 am
Join me for a ride starting from Rock Cut State Park. We will take the paved Orange Trail along Willow Creek out of the park to Perryville Road. We cycle west to the Rock River then south along the shoreline paths through many small parks. This is a very scenic and diverse bike ride on side streets and park trails.
Where: Rock Cut State Park When: Saturday, 8/26, 9 AM (Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare and sign in) What: Ride through the State Park and along the Rock River, about 25 miles How: Casual speed, no one left behind
Directions: Located about 65 miles from Schaumburg. Allow about 1 hour 15 minutes to get there.
Take the I-90 Tollway North West to Rockford to 173 (the sign states Rock Cut State Park). Go left on 173 and you will see the entrance to the park. There are many parking lots within the park. It is about 1.5 miles into the park to Pierce Lake Dam. Just stay on the main park road until you get to the lake. We will meet at the Dam (looks like a wooden bridge). There is a parking lot on the north side of the dam (bridge) across from the orange trail. Don't cross the bridge or you will have gone too far.
Let me know you're coming so I don't leave without you.
