Ride to Fermilab and buffalo
May 19, 2018
9:30 am

If you aren't going to be watching the royal wedding on Saturday (I think
coverage starts about 4 AM) you can join me looking for the baby buffalo at
Fermilab. Then we'll ride some of the Fox River Trail before taking the
Prairie Path back to Warrenville.

Where: Meet at the trailhead parking lot at the Warrenville library (28W751
Stafford Pl, Warrenville, IL 60555)
When: Saturday, 5/19, 9:30 AM. (Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare
and sign in.)
What: ~20 mile bike ride
How: Casual riding speed, no one left behind

The route will be about half paved and half limestone. We'll be on rail
trails, so the biggest hills will probably be for overpasses.

Directions: Take Route 59 south. Make a left on Batavia Road. Cross
Butterfield and make the first right on Manning. Another right on Warren,
then left onto Stafford at the "castle". The parking lot will be next to
the gazebo on the right. It is about 30 minutes from the Schaumburg Clock
Tower. Restrooms available in the library across the street, which opens at
9:30 AM on Saturday.

Saturday is expected to be warm and sunny.

Bring a picture ID. Sometimes access to Fermilab is controlled and IDs are
checked.

Let me know you are coming so I don't leave without you.
