Wisconsin Color Ride
October 31, 2018
10:30am

last month we discovered how nice the Glacial Drumlin Trail
is near Waukesha. This month you are welcome to join me on a ride for fall
colors from Waukesha on the Glacial Drumlin Trail.

Where: Shurts Environmental Center, 810 W. College Ave, Waukesha, WI
What: Ride the Glacial Drumlin Trail and Lake County Trail about 25 miles
total (paved trails)
When: 10:30AM, Wednesday, October 31 (Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign
in and prepare)
How: Casual speed, no one left behind

Directions: Take US 12 West past Lake Geneva to I-43 North. Exit at
WI-164/Big Bend and make a left. Follow the road into Waukesha. Turn left
on College Ave (traffic light) and follow to the nature center on the right.
About 2 hours from Schaumburg.

I plan to stop for lunch (sandwich) at a café in Wells or Delafield if that
is acceptable to everyone. Or you can bring a lunch.

There will be some rolling hills on this ride. The biggest hill will
probably be the highway overpass. While the Glacial Drumlin and Lake County
trails are both rail trails, there are some variances from the old rights of
way and the Cushing Park Trail that connects the two is not a rail trail.
We'll be making a loop to Wales, then north to Delafield and back to
Waukesha.

You'll need a $5 day pass for the Glacial Drumlin Trail. (Funds go to
trails in Wisconsin.)

Forecast is for mid-50s and only a light wind.

Let me know you are coming so I don't leave without you.
