Ride Fox River Trail
March 31, 2019
10 AM

Too cold for most to ride comfortably and safely so this ride is canceled.

Help me escort March out (hopefully as a lamb) with a ride along the Fox River on Sunday morning. March 31 at 10 AM. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in and prepare. We’ll start from the old Elgin library parking lot (226 N Grove Ave) south of Kimball Street from the current library. Restrooms will be available in the Centre of Elgin across the street. We’ll decide whether to head north or south depending on the wind direction and strength. The Fox River Trail is good in the spring because it is paved (limestone trails are often still messy) and somewhat sheltered down along the river.

If you prefer a shorter or longer ride, it is easy to turn around or continue further at your option. It is hard to get lost on the Fox River Trail.

Directions to old library parking lot: West on Golf/58 until it ends at Grove in Elgin. Left on Grove. Pass the library, cross Kimball Street and enter the parking lot on the right.

Expect temperatures in the upper 30’s to 40 degrees, but sunny. Prepare for a cool ride.

Starting Location:
Old Elgin Library Parking Lot - 226 N Grove Ave, Elgin

Distance: 16-20 miles
Average Speed: 10-12 mph, casual speed
Leader: Wayne (heinmiller.il@prodigy.net)
